What is an LCD video wall?
An LCD video wall is a large visual surface constructed from multiple LCD monitors. These individual displays are designed for these applications and are very different from regular displays. The biggest differences are in bezel width, mounting system and stability. These individual displays are typically capable of 24/7 service and are often used for commercial purposes. Because of the sometimes critical nature of the business environment in which these video walls are deployed, uptime needs to be as long as possible.
Automatic color adjustment and brightness calibration
Especially important for video walls is the perfect calibration of color and brightness. This is not limited to individual individual displays. What is more critical is that the color and brightness settings match for the entire wall. This means that the values of all individual monitors need to be in sync with the surrounding monitors. If this is not the case, even the slightest deviation in color or brightness can make the wall look unbalanced.
