You’ve already selected a Spatial Screen, but now that you’re ready to upload your assets, are you wondering if standard product images can be used as-is? What should you do if the image background doesn’t meet the requirements? Are you unsure whether you need to create specialized 3D assets? This article addresses these display-related questions.
Existing product images can be used on a Spatial Display, but white-background product images and videos are recommended. If an image does not have a white background, simply remove the original background and place the product against a white background.
Common image formats such as JPEG and BMP, as well as video formats such as MP4, AVI, TS, MKV, RMVB, and MPG, are supported. There is no need to create special 3D content.
A Spatial Signage Display identifies the product and its background and processes them separately. The product remains in 2D, while the background uses depth-based lighting effects to create a glasses-free 3D effect. Generally, the cleaner the background, the easier it is to distinguish the product from its surroundings, resulting in a more natural depth effect. Otherwise, product recognition and the depth effect may be affected.
For a 21.5-inch Spatial Display, we recommend using high-definition images and videos with a resolution close to 1080 × 1920 and the native 16:9 aspect ratio. If suitable content is not available, choose higher-resolution materials whenever possible to avoid blurriness when low-resolution content is enlarged.
The spatial screen
supports both horizontal and vertical installation, and the content should be adjusted to match the actual installation orientation. For example, vertical product images can be used for vertically installed window displays, while horizontal images are suitable for horizontally installed countertop displays.
The spatial signage supports both landscape and portrait playback, but this does not mean the same content will look its best in both orientations. Therefore, we recommend adjusting the composition of images and videos according to the actual installation orientation. This ensures that the product remains fully visible and prevents cropping, stretching, or important information from being cut off.
VS and Huidu content management software are mainly used for video transmission and playback management. This softwaredo not support video editing, background removal, or format conversion. Therefore, images and videos need to be edited and adjusted before uploading.
You can transfer images and videos to the Spatial Signage Display through USB or a Wi-Fi connection. You can also use VS or Huidu content management software to remotely publish and update content on the spatial screen.
Processed product images and videos can be used across different Spatial Display sizes. There is no need to recreate the product content for each screen size. However, we still recommend adjusting the content according to the actual screen resolution and installation orientation before uploading.
Spatial signage does not impose high requirements on display content. Existing product images and videos can typically be used for spatial signage displays after undergoing necessary background processing, resizing, and image adaptation—without the need to create specialized 3D models or 3D videos.
Confirming the background, resolution, and orientation of the content in advance can reduce the workload involved in post-production adjustments and ensure the content better meets actual display requirements. If you’re looking for Spatial Signage suitable for commercial displays, VETO offers a variety of size options and customization services to help you select the right Spatial Signage solution for your specific application.
